ReplyDeleteI like it because when I first saw it in a distance I thought I was going to walk right into the garden. The columns are so realistic and the perspective is really cool.

I like this artwork because it looks really cool. When I first saw it, I thought it was really confusing how there's people on the top and bottom of the painting, but as I kept looking at it, it turned into a small continuous cycle.

ReplyDeleteI like it because its simple but through the face of his self portrait the painting comes to life and it makes me feel at ease. I like the way he uses simple colors to present a emotion on the face.

I like it because of the texture and mixing of mediums, not just using paint but more 3 dimensional things like plywood to add variation.

I like the painting because it combines western abstract techniques and chinese tradition, while trying to retain eastern artistic elements.

- Personally, I love the classical elements of architecture, such as an archway, and the scenery of the woods. Particularly, I admire the angle of view of this art work, as well as the elaborate details of all the objects on the canvas.

i like the painting because of it's extremely expressive brushstrokes, the large, thick brushstrokes present throughout instills a very strong emotion in the painting.

I don't know whether it is in the early morning or cloudy afternoon, but I likely can smell the fresh air from this painting. I like the atmosphere the artist created, it's calm and peace. The colors are muted, but they don't weaken the painting.

The painting is very abstract. But, from the name of the painting, I can visualize what the painting wanted to show. "The Cathedral" has relation with the Gothic period in Art HIstory we are learning now. The Gothic style clerestory window majorly used the colors red and blue, unlike the Byzantine style, gold. I really liked how there were many tints and shades to a same color, it seems like as if light is coming through from the other side. Another thing is that the shapes of the colored parts are more vertical, giving the viewer a going up look and making it seem more tall in height. Also, I liked how the various colors and shapes harmonized, making it seem like a whole piece.

When I first zoom in to see the painting, I see the artist use many different colors to build up the whole picture. So when I zoom out, I see all the colors blend in smoothly. I like the atmosphere that the artist created, it's very peaceful.

Reason: I really enjoy this painting a lot. I like the deep colors used on this canvas because they're so pure looking & they're bold.
The images are simple, yet when you look back & see it all together, they come together & make quite a POW.
Not only that, but you really do get a sense of a "dream-like"quality.
And the setting of the painting is perfect because it's in a jungle, & normally, when I picture jungles, they're very out-there & unknown to many people.

Reason: I enjoy appreciating Vicent van Gogh's pieces. when i was looking at his art work from Van Gogh Museum, the art eascape near Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer attracted me the most and stay in my mind long after I finished appreciating it.The blue sky and endless sea come together to form a peace feeling.

The strong warm and cold colors contrast with each other, but turns out to be harmonious and soft. I like how the artist used the blurry sense of pastel, and creates a abstract depiction of nature.

It's simple, and almost plain. I like how the artist was able to create such depth and distance with only tiny, tiny lines (it's about 20x30cm big).
